v1.1 post-jam updates

It is now 10 days since the GMTK game jam ended and we have made some serious progress with Dice: The Deliverance since then.

We slightly overscoped during the jam and so we barely had enough time to fix the most critical bugs and get rid of all placeholders. There was very little time for polishing and adding some juice to the game. It did not feel right to leave the game in that state so we immediately started to work on all the little things we did not squeeze into the 50 hours of the jam. As the work progressed, more and more ideas came up and I think we are on a good way for a well polished game.

Here's a shortlist of the larger fixes, tweaks and additions that were added since the end of the GMTK game jam:

  • Fixed text scaling in the intro in fullscreen mode.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the initial mana dice to be leveled up above d10.
  • Tutorial is now skipped one step at a time instead of completely.
  • Tutorial can now be shown again during combat.
  • It is now possible to concede a fight.
  • Various movements and scaling highlights have been tweened to appear smoother.
  • Various visual fixes such as mana size in mana pool and graveyard or overflow in level up screen.
  • Cutscene at the start of fight with a monster that has not been defeated yet.
  • Monster sprite on map is hidden until the monster is defeated.

There's quite a long list of changes that we still want to add, many of them much more significant than the items on the list above, so stay tuned for more!
